We’re excited to be part of SXSW for another year, diving into all of the cool conferences, exhibitions and networking opportunities that this quintessentially Austin event has to offer. If you’ll be there, consider this your invitation to join us at the variety of events we're hosting and participating in – come check us out!
SXSW 2018 kicks off Friday, March 9, and we’ll be off to an exciting start first thing in the morning. Head to the iconic Antone’s club, where Duo Principal Security Strategist Wendy Nather will be a panelist in the talk Practicing Real Security in a Dangerous World from 8:30-10:30 AM. Hosted by Leo Laporte (The Tech Guy on Premiere radio nationwide, founder and host, the TWiT Netcast Network) and joined by Stacey Higginbotham (journalist and host of the IoT Podcast) and Beau Woods (Cyber Safety Innovation Fellow, Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security), these industry luminaries will discuss the state of consumer security. No RSVP or badge is required – just mark your calendar, grab a coffee, and come on down.
We’ll give you a couple hours to explore and rest, and then as day turns into night the fun really begins! First up, visit our booth at Capital Factory on Friday from 4-8PM. As the official starting point for the Startup Crawl, Capital Factory is a great chance to network with tons of tech professionals under one roof. A variety of teams and departments from Duo will be on hand to tell you about who we are and what we do, and give you the lowdown on the positions we’re hiring for. Plus, if you have a VIP badge you’ll get some awesome exclusive Duo swag!
Once you’ve filled your swag bag and stopped by our booth, head over to our new Austin office. We’ll open our doors for the crawl at 5PM, where you can tour our new stomping grounds while enjoying some live music and refreshments. The party don’t stop… as long as you RSVP here.
While the main events we’re hosting happen Friday, you can find us doing speaking engagements throughout the week. On Saturday, March 10 from 12:30-3PM, we’re teaming up with Voltage Control on an Inclusion and Diversity Panel, featuring our own Diversity and Inclusion Manager Trey Boynton sharing her expertise on why diversity and inclusion is the secret sauce for thriving teams. Along with thought leaders from companies like Atlassian and Uber, the panel addresses everything from getting started with D&I, all the way up to highlighting companies with established D&I programs and what they’re doing right.
How do recruiters successfully scale a startup company while overcoming the obstacles of major growth, supply and demand, and attracting top talent? Hear how our Recruiting Operations Manager Jasmine Burns has helped scale Duo on a panel of Scaling Mobility Startups in Metro Detroit Monday, March 12 from 10-11AM. Other top companies that have scaled successfully in Michigan, like May Mobility and GM’s Maven, will share their stories, secrets, and struggles – as well as their triumphs – for recruiting and retaining hard-to-find talent.
